Our history

A hyper-growth scale-up in Lyon

Founded in Lyon in 2007, GAC Software (formerly GAC Group) was born of the desire of its founders to simplify corporate asset management through digital technology. From our first software application dedicated to vehicle fleet management, we have expanded our expertise to include solutions for managing real estate and employee equipment. At every stage, our ambition remains the same: to offer companies greater traceability, control and performance, while limiting hidden costs and facilitating the transition to a sustainable mode. Today, more than 800 customers place their trust in us, and we are continuing to expand internationally.

A growth trajectory driven by innovation

From the outset, we have been developing software focused on performance and traceability, initially for automotive and telecom fleet management. Our approach, recognized by an Innovation Trophy, has strengthened the confidence of our customers: in 2015, around a hundred of them placed their trust in us, and our offer was extended to include the management of infractions and real estate assets; in 2022, we launched a solution dedicated to employee equipment; and in 2024, our flagship software, GAC Car Fleet, passed the milestone of 500,000 vehicles managed, with innovative new functionalities, including artificial intelligence, to support our customers as their businesses evolve.

GAC Software goes international

For several years now, the group has been expanding internationally, with the challenge of accelerating this expansion while preserving the company’s DNA. Today, GAC Software is present in over 30 countries in Europe and Africa. Since 2022, two new partners, New Alpha Verto and Bpifrance, have joined the adventure at our side to support us in this ambitious project.

2025: from GAC Group to GAC Software, a new name for the same ambition

This new name embodies the natural evolution of our company and reinforces our position as a business software publisher for professionals. GAC Software more clearly expresses our core business: designing robust, specialized and scalable SaaS software solutions to optimize enterprise asset management. This change is part of a dynamic of growth in France and internationally, continuous innovation and reinforced commitment to our customers.

Our management team

Our management team combines strategic vision with business expertise. Together, they steer our development and our ability to innovate, in the service of our customers and partners.

Matthieu ECHALIER

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Matthieu began his career in 1995 in the United States, working at IBM’s T.J. Waston research center and at Columbia University. He also worked as an engineer at the EADS research center. Matthieu is a graduate of ENSAM, the engineering school of Arts et Métiers.

Géraud PORTEU

General Manager GAC Technology

Géraud has over 20 years’ experience in marketing and sales roles. He worked in B2B and B2C, in France and Europe, in the office supplies and home furnishings sectors, before setting up a digital marketing consultancy. He then joined GAC to oversee marketing strategy, before broadening his responsibilities.

Christelle BURTIN

Director GAC Real Estate Software

Christelle has been working in the software industry for 20 years. Before joining GAC, she was operational manager of a company in the education sector. She then took charge of the GAC RES subsidiary, developing the company’s property management software.

Laure TRIMOLET

Human Resources Manager

Laure holds a Master’s 2 in labor law, and initially worked on operational assignments, before taking a ten-year break in a managerial role. After 5 years with GAC on a timeshare basis, she decided to join the company full-time, to devote herself entirely to the teams and their management.

Clément FAURÉ

Technical Manager

Clément began his career as R&D project manager for the EADS France joint research center, before taking on the role of JAVA/J2EE consultant on a business intelligence project for Air-France. Clément holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence.

Arnaud GUILLAUME

Chief Financial Officer

Arnaud graduated from Skema Business School with a degree in accountancy. After 8 years in transaction, restructuring and finance function transformation consulting services, he launched his entrepreneurial career by founding a software company specialized in financing. Arnaud then joined GAC in a context of strong growth and international structuring.

Maxime BERGÈS

International Director

Maxime is a graduate of EM Lyon. He worked for over 20 years in IT consulting groups for major French and international accounts. He has always developed and managed profit centers with respect for his customers, proposing value-generating offers. Maxime joined GAC as International Director to accelerate development outside France.

Séverine CHARPENTIER

Marketing Director

Séverine has over 20 years’ experience in B2B marketing and communications, both in France and internationally. She began her career in 2001 in software publishing in the heart of Silicon Valley in the United States, and spent 7 years working for innovative companies in the IT sector. She then spent 14 years in consulting agencies as an Account Director.
